[Update: AF2 removed] Ubisoft sues Apple and Google over Rainbow Six Siege Clone on Mobile

Update: The game Area F2 has been removed from the app stores

Ubisoft claims a game has been released that is a “near carbon copy” of their Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege title, suing Apple and Google in the process for selling such game.

Area F2 a title in question developed by Ejoy, a China based developer owned by Chinese tech and retail giant Alibaba.

“Virtually every aspect of AF2 is copied from R6S, from the operator selection screen to the final scoring screen, and everything in between.”

“Ubisoft’s competitors are constantly looking for ways to piggyback on R6S’ popularity and to capture the attention, and money, of R6S players.”

Ubisoft contacted Apple and Google about the game and its copyright infringements but both companies have yet to remove the game from their mobile app stores.

No words yet have been heard from Google, Apple, and Alibaba.
